ts3_ep2_cover_smIn the latest weeks some sites published a few previews and info about the next expansion pack: The Sims Ambitions. Its release date is June, 4th for Europe and June, 1st for USA. The main theme, as we have already announced on past articles, is our Sims' career.

On the official site, producer Grant Rodiek wrote two posts on his blog and gave us some details about creative careers and heroic careers. You can find them here and here.

Moreover, on GameSpot you can find 2 long interviews with Grant Rodiek, again about creative careers and heroic careers.

Here below you can find a list of things to know about The Sims 3 Ambitions!

The Sims 3 Ambitions: creative careers

  • There are 4 creative careers: tattoo artist, architect, sculptor and stylist
  • Architectural design is a powerful creative career path and one that can greatly impact your town. Sims throughout the neighborhood will call your architectural designer sim to do a huge assortment of design jobs, client jobs are driven by the clients themselves--and not some random cycle. For example expecting parents will request a new baby room;
  • To satisfy clients needs, architectural designer will use a new tool of Buy and Build mode called Renovation mode;
  • Sculpting is new a skill;
  • When your sims have knowledge of several skills, including sculpting and inventing from Ambitions, they can register as being "self-employed";
  • Sculptors can sculpt in quite a few media, including metal, clay, ice, wood, and even topiaries. They can create a wide array of sculptures--from the silly dancing gator to functional objects like a clay dining chair or even ice sculptures of their friends in cool poses;
  • Create-a-sim tattoo feature is incredibly deep. Players can start by changing the colors of every tattoo. However, those feeling a bit adventurous can layer up to five tattoos, which they can then individually scale, modify in color, or even modify in opacity;
  • The stylist can satisfy--or mortify-- their client. Clients may request a new hairstyle, new outfit, just a little bit of makeup or even a full personal makeover.

The Sims 3 Ambitions: heroic careers

  • There are 3 heroic careers: firefighter, private investigator, and an expanded version of the doctor from The Sims 3.
  • Doctors in Ambitions can exit the hospital to save lives during emergencies, provide free health clinics and inoculations in the community, or provide experimental medicines to the community.
  • Firefighter sims will encounter small fires, huge infernos that require dramatic rescues and smooth hose operation, or even earthquakes. Firefighters face two challenges--preparing for emergencies by training and maintaining equipment, and handling them when they occur with speed. Players are required to make quick decisions to earn high scores and save lives.
  • Private investigators can conduct stakeouts, assist the police, snoop for clues with their trusty magnifying glass, or dust for prints. There's also blackmail, bribery, fisticuffs, and a handy lockpicking kit for other case-related issues.
  • There are new traits, such as "Perceptive" and new lifetime wishes and rewards.
